Common Issues in Full LED Headlights of BMW 5 Series F10 F11 M5

If a message appears on your monitor:

• Adaptive Lichtsysteme defect (Fault in adaptive lighting systems)
• Ferenlicht rechts defect (Damaged extreme right light)
• Abblendlicht rechts defect (Damaged right low beam light)
• Lechtweitenregulierung defect (Damaged headlight range regulator)

This means that one or more modules in your headlight are damaged.
There are as many as four modules on one side in the left or right headlight.

How to diagnose a fault?

• The first option is to connect the car to the BMW service computer, which will diagnose which module is damaged.
• The second option is a DIY method: transferring the module from one lamp to another individually. Unfortunately, this involves removing the front bumper to be able to take out the headlights and access the modules.
